Robin recently did a service on my xair (Rotax 582) and also fitted a new throttle control and cables.
He was very thorough and made a few tweaks to the carburettor and modified the throttle control cables to resolve a couple of problems that occurred during fitting.
He travelled out to the airfield where I keep my aircraft and also kept me informed when he was delayed.
He obviously has a lot of engineering experience and his work was spot on. Thanks Robin. I will use you again.

I have just purchased a Pegasus Quik through Robin who was selling it on behalf of the previous owner.
From start to finish Robin’s customer service was outstanding. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and very willing to patiently explain specifics. This was also delivered was a good dose of humour!
Robin had completed a fair amount of rectification work prior to the sale and subsequently completed a couple of mods prior to collection. All the while he kept me up to date with the progress and all was completed in a timely manner - Christmas and Covid notwithstanding.
Overall I was very impressed with the service Robin provided from his fabulous little workshop at Wickham Green and feel very confident that should the need arise I will turn to him again for advice and/or servicing requirements. I would thoroughly recommend RKAT.

Robin has been absolutely brilliant.
In my initial call to him he gave me a huge amount of information on flex wings and what to look for and what to watch out for and I immediately realised that this guy knew exactly what he was talking about.
I took a trip up to his workshop to view the Quik’s on sale and he talked through the difference between the two and even went for a flight and so we agreed a deal on VG and agreed what I would need it terms of radio/IPad fit etc. I left feeling very happy with my purchase. After a further trip to deliver the radio etc we agreed a delivery date Wx permitting.
Robin delivered VG to her new hanger and I must say I’m over the moon with my new Quik and the service I received.

I chose Microlight flying, and more specifically Flexwing flying, for its affordability, ease of use, flexibility and joy against other types of flying and aircraft.
I choose RKAT for the same four reasons.
Dealing with Robin is a pleasure, happy to host at the RKAT HQ, or make the journey by road to me, he understands that flyers need to work and so makes himself available on the weekends, With his P&M background, he has an almost unrivalled knowledge of Flexwing manufacture and so knows what is right, and critically for Permit to Fly inspections, what is wrong. I have been using Robin’s services for 7 years, being my first choice for inspections and maintenance work due to the friendly, yet professional service provided and advice offered.

Over the last year even during the pandemic Robin provided me with exemplary service. I initially had real problems getting my 2-stoke SSDR to start but Robin had the problem quickly diagnosed and had me flying again. This was repeated when my a/c developed a fuel delivery problem more recently. Robin is quite clearly a very skilled engineer and as a pilot he well understands his clients' needs. He seems equally at home whether its a 4 or 2 stroke or whether flex or fixed wing, he has helped me with both. Always professional, punctual and diligent. Highly recommended if like me you need the reassurance of an expert.

I have been extremely impressed with RKATs work. After having an engine failure in flight I dropped the aircraft to the hangar and an inspection agreement was agreed. Once the cause of the fault was diagnosed parts were sourced for a very reasonable price and fitted. The engine was given a thorough check and set up including adjustment of the prop pitch and fitting of new temperature gauges for CHT and EGT’s. Once the work was complete Robin very kindly stored the aircraft until the weather was calm enough for me to come and fly back home. I can’t fault his work, all communications were regular and detailed explaining what he was going to do before it happened, and recommending any extra snags that should be addressed along the way for very reasonable costs.
I will most certainly be returning for all my future Rotax engine work, as well as airframe inspections.
